A spirit of understanding and flexibility is part of the journey—and allows you to fully appreciate the authenticity and rewards of travelling beyond the usual paths. Meals on the RoadAs this journey includes travel between cities, some days may involve remote or extended stretches where conventional restaurants are not available. On these occasions, lunch will be thoughtfully arranged as a packed meal or a scenic picnic, allowing you to dine comfortably along the route without interrupting the journey. Walking & AccessibilitySome sites involve walking on uneven terrain, sandy paths, rocky surfaces, or stairs. If you normally use a walking cane or other mobility aid, we recommend bringing it with you for added comfort. Comfort During VisitsDuring guided visits, there may be times when you will stand while listening to your guide, wait for transportation, or queue at attractions. If standing for extended periods is uncomfortable, we recommend bringing a lightweight foldable chair or informing Cometra in advance so we can assist where possible. We'd also suggest wearing comfortable walking shoes, packing a sun hat, and dressing modestly for visits to religious sites. Stay HydratedAs we spend much of the day exploring, we encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle. Refill stations are available in many locations, helping you stay hydrated while supporting sustainable travel.

Travel from Cairo to the heart of Upper Egypt by sleeper train and road, follow the Nile from Aswan to Luxor through its great temple landscape, then finish beside the Red Sea in Hurghada. Begin with the Giza Plateau and the Grand Egyptian Museum before boarding the overnight sleeper train south to Aswan. Discover Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk, with optional Abu Simbel and a Nubian village experience adding depth to the southern stay. Continue north by private road through Kom Ombo and Edfu to Luxor, where Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut and Medinet Habu reveal the grandeur of ancient Thebes. The journey then leaves the Nile Valley for Hurghada, where two nights on the Red Sea provide time to unwind before the trip concludes.
