Last updated: November 2025
"Travel Deeply, Travel the Cometra Way"
The following Terms and Conditions apply to all trips operated or arranged by COMETRA Travel ("Cometra"), for both directly booked clients and partner agents. By submitting a booking request or confirming a reservation with Cometra, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
Clients are strongly advised to review these Terms carefully prior to booking. Once Cometra receives a trip request, it will be considered as full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. In case of any doubt or misunderstanding, it is the client's responsibility to seek clarification from Cometra before confirming their trip.
Trip itineraries are published on our website and may be customized for individuals, groups, or tailor-made requests. Costs may be adjusted accordingly.
Cometra reserves the right to modify, replace, or cancel daily activities due to weather, regulations, safety, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances. Clients are expected to remain flexible and understanding.
Cometra does not provide compensation or a refund for any altered or canceled portion of the trip caused by unforeseeable or uncontrollable circumstances.
If Cometra changes or amends any activity at the client's request or due to operational reasons before the trip commences, the client will be notified. Any additional costs will be added to the final invoice.
Cometra will forward final, updated trip details prior to departure.
Clients confirm they understand trip activities and pace and assume responsibility for personal fitness. Cometra may ask clients to abstain from activities for health or safety reasons — no compensation will be provided for missed activities.
If a client voluntarily skips activities or leaves early, Cometra will not provide refunds. If unable to participate due to force majeure (illness or unavoidable events), Cometra will endeavour to reschedule or replace activities where possible.
Participants should be physically independent (e.g., boarding vehicles without assistance, walking up/down steps). Clients must disclose medical or mobility conditions at booking; Cometra may accept or decline reservations after review.
If a client requests a published trip to run privately for their group, Cometra will make it exclusive and not accept additional participants.
Published trips are typically designed for a maximum of 24 participants plus local staff (guides, escorts). Tailor-made private groups may vary in size by request.
Cometra provides private guides, representatives, and vehicles as part of exclusive services. Unauthorised third parties are not permitted to join group activities.
Clients are responsible for booking and confirming all international flights. Cometra does not book or issue international flight tickets.
Clients must provide accurate arrival and departure flight details so Cometra can arrange transfers and logistics.
If a client fails to provide accurate flight information they may be responsible for arranging their own airport transfers and related costs, with no refund.
Changes to flights may affect the itinerary. Clients should be aware their schedule may be adjusted when flights change.
In events such as flight cancellations for weather or other force majeure, clients are responsible for additional costs (extra hotel nights, ticket changes) unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Standard rooms are included in the trip cost. Room upgrades are possible subject to hotel availability and additional charges; clients should advise Cometra in advance.
Hotel star classifications in Egypt may differ from those in Europe or the U.S. Cometra selects hotels based on service, cleanliness, and guest experience; clients should approach accommodation with cultural openness.
Requests for accessible rooms or special facilities must be made before booking. Fulfilment depends on hotel availability and additional fees may apply.
Clients must provide accurate rooming information (room type, number sharing, ages of children). Later changes may incur additional charges and depend on availability.
Clients are responsible for their belongings at all times. Take care with luggage in public places, restaurants, and during activities.
Cometra is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to luggage at airports, hotels, or other locations. Clients should check luggage is loaded before taking a seat in vehicles.
Clients must ensure luggage complies with airline or carrier regulations; Cometra is not responsible for verifying compliance.
For flight delays or lost luggage, clients should contact the airline directly. Cometra may assist but is not liable.
Clients are responsible for securing passports and travel documents. Cometra assumes no liability for lost passports; clients bear costs for replacement documents and any related delays.
Health and safety are priorities. Clients must disclose medical conditions in advance. Cometra reserves the right to decline reservations if participation poses a risk.
Cometra staff do not provide prescriptions, medicine, or medical advice. Clients taking prescribed medications should bring them and the corresponding prescriptions.
Participants must follow health, hygiene, and safety protocols required by local authorities. Non-compliance may result in removal from the programme without refund.
Cometra may remove participants without refund for behaviour that endangers safety, violates laws, damages reputation, or is abusive to staff or other participants.
Cometra is not responsible for consequences of risks if a client participates in activities arranged by unauthorised third parties.
Clients accept the risk of exposure to illnesses or diseases and agree to hold Cometra harmless from claims related to such exposure, including quarantine or health impacts.
Insurance is not included in the trip price. Clients are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering the entire trip, cancellations, and medical expenses.
Clients must provide proof of insurance prior to arrival (insurer name, policy number, 24/7 emergency contact). This information is treated confidentially.
Clients should raise difficulties immediately with the tour manager or guide so Cometra can address them during the trip. Independent travellers should contact Cometra's emergency number or email.
Post-trip complaints should be emailed within 30 days of return with detailed information. Cometra will acknowledge within 7 business days and aim to resolve the matter promptly.
Cometra may take photos and videos during trips for promotional purposes. By participating, clients grant Cometra permission to use such materials without compensation or further notice.
Clients who do not wish to appear in promotional materials must notify the guide or tour manager at the trip start. All materials remain Cometra's intellectual property.
Bookings are unconfirmed until the required deposit has been received.
In case of cancellation by the client, a non-refundable administrative fee will be deducted from the deposit; the full cancellation policy applies after this deduction.
Payments are typically made by bank transfer. Cometra will confirm receipt upon arrival of funds. Banking details are confidential.
Cancellation requests must be emailed from the same address used to book. The cancellation date is the date Cometra receives the email.
Cash payments in Egypt must be made with clean and intact banknotes.
For trips departing in less than 30 days, full payment may be required to confirm the reservation.
Cometra may cancel trips for operational reasons, safety concerns, or force majeure. Clients will be offered a full refund (less non-recoverable supplier costs) or transfer to another trip.
This settlement is final; Cometra is not liable for additional expenses such as international flights or consequential costs.
Cometra is not liable for delays or cancellations caused by events beyond its control such as natural disasters, pandemics, war, strikes, or extreme weather.
In such cases, Cometra will make reasonable efforts to provide alternatives. Refunds are at Cometra's discretion after deducting non-recoverable expenses.
Children under 18 must travel with a parent or legal guardian, who remains responsible for their conduct and safety.
Some activities may not suit children; Cometra reserves the right to restrict participation for safety reasons.
Cometra's liability is limited to the total trip cost paid by the client. Cometra is not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
This limitation does not exclude liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
Cometra collects personal data to arrange and deliver services. Data is shared only with necessary suppliers or as required by law.
Clients may request access, correction, or deletion of data by contacting Cometra in writing. All information is handled confidentially.
These Terms are governed by Egyptian law. Any disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Cairo courts, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
